Wilma ten Wolde

Wilma ten Wolde specialized in choral pedagogy and choral singing for children, youth and adolescents following her master's degree in choral conducting. She was artistic director of the choral school Viva la Musica in Zuidwolde, Drenthe (1989-2004) and director of Vocaal Talent Nederland | Nationale Koren (1999-2025). For the vocal department of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, she taught solfège and ensemble singing.

She prepared more than 70 different productions with the Nationale Koren for orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Berliner Philharmoniker for conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Sir Simon Rattle, Andrea Marcon, Bernard Haitink, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Iván Fischer.

In 2015, she received the Hogenbijl Prize. From the jury report: "With the National Children's Choir and the National Women's Youth Choir, Wilma ten Wolde has set a standard that has earned her a special reputation not only in the Netherlands but also beyond our borders.

In 2019, she was named a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau for her merit in the development of classical singing for youth and young adults in the Netherlands.

In 2023, under her direction, the National Women's Youth Choir received the Concertgebouw's Young Talent Award.

Wilma ten Wolde is a teacher in the teaching location of Zuidwolde (Dr).
