The Nationale Koren offers young singers with exceptional musical talent and ambition an environment in which they can continue to develop over many years. A quality music education opens up new musical worlds and helps young singers continually explore their potential.

That requires time, attention, and expertise. Through specialized vocal training and a broad musical education, singers develop their voices, inner ear, and musical independence. They learn to hear, understand, and interpret music more and more effectively, and are given the space to develop artistically.

Vocal and musical development require long-term guidance. It is precisely when children build a solid musical foundation at a young age that opportunities arise which can continue to deepen over many years.

Within the Nationale Koren program, every singer is given the opportunity to develop at their own pace. A love of music, personal growth, and artistic excellence go hand in hand. The knowledge, skills, and experiences gained form a valuable foundation for the rest of their lives, both within and outside the world of music.

Learning Through Artistic Practice

Individual vocal development and ensemble singing are closely linked. Singers learn to listen, take responsibility for their own musical contribution, and work together to create a cohesive artistic whole.

A distinctive repertoire and collaborations with leading musicians, orchestras, and ensembles offer our singers the opportunity to further develop their skills in professional concert settings. These artistic experiences are an essential part of their training.

Passing on Craftsmanship

Since 1989, Nationale Koren has built up extensive knowledge and experience in coaching young voices. That expertise continues to grow through the daily work of voice teachers, music educators, and conductors with young singers of various ages and developmental levels.

Through our Center of Expertise and initiatives such as DoorZingen, we share and expand this knowledge together with others. In doing so, we contribute to the quality and future of vocal music education in the Netherlands.
