The color of the horizon

National Women's Youth Choir along with Peter Vigh and Charlotte Caspers

NVJK

At The Color of the Horizon painting, music and reflection meet in a sensory journey along the horizon: that thin line between earth and sky where imagination is born. The National Women's Youth Choir, saxophonist Peter Vigh and artist Charlotte Caspers intertwine their disciplines into a whole in which sound, color and language connect.

The horizon evokes emotions - hope, expectation, stillness, longing - that become palpable in the interplay of word, image and tone. The choir, conducted by Irene Verburg and László Némes, sketches a rich musical landscape with works by Benjamin Britten, Zoltán Kodály, Giuseppe Verdi and Hildegard von Bingen. Their sound world, which alternates and merges with the saxophone, is the foundation against which space, light and human emotion come to life.

Charlotte Caspers is known for The Master's Secret and The Colors of Caspers. Since October of this year, the first season of Kijken met Caspers has been on television. In her work, she searches for the miraculous in the everyday; for moments when light, color and form momentarily coincide in silence and meaning. She invites the audience to look with new eyes and listen with new ears. By zooming in on the tangible world, a space of beauty, comfort and wonder opens up.
