The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra plays Bach's Passion music every year. This year the orchestra is collaborating with the National Mixed Youth Choir.
About the St. Matthew Passion
Bach's musical account of the last days of Jesus is brilliant, compelling and moving. Those who hear the opening chorus of the St. Matthew Passion are immediately captivated by the almost otherworldly beauty and intensity of this music. Other highlights include the poignant soprano aria "Blute nur," the comforting alto aria "Erbarme dich" with its famous violin solo, and the overwhelming choral work "Sind Blitze, sind Donner.
René Jacobs
Together with six top international soloists, they will perform Bach's St. Matthew Passion, conducted by René Jacobs. This baroque specialist has previously collaborated successfully with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra on Bach's Passion music.
