The National Women's Youth Choir (NVJK). led by Wilma ten Wolde receives the Young Talent Award from the Concertgebouw. This was announced last Sunday in the TV broadcast of Podium Klassiek on NPO 2. The choir receives the award because of the great contribution it has made for many years to the training of young vocal talent.
'Every performance of this choir confirms its exceptional quality. It is an indispensable breeding ground of vocal talent in the Netherlands, 'Â said Simon Reinink, general director of The Concertgebouw.
In previous editions, the award was given to individual musicians. Previous winners included pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen (2011), violinist Noa Wildschut (2013), soprano Laetitia Gerards (2014), recorder player Lucie Horsch (2015), pianist Aidan Mikdad (2017), pianist Nikola Meeuwsen (2019) and singer Nai Barghouti (2021). The award will be presented on April 18 during a gala dinner at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
