Sanne Nieuwenhuijsen began her musical training as a young chorister at the Kathedrale Koorschool Utrecht. At the Royal Conservatory in The Hague she studied principal study in choral conducting and singing. She participated in master classes in choral conducting with Tonu Kaljuste, Veljo Tormis and Kaspar Putnins, among others, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and the Stuttgarter Kammerchor with Frieder Bernius. Until 2023, Sanne held the position of Magistra Cantus at the Music Institute of St. Bavo Cathedral in Haarlem and was conductor at the affiliated Koorschool Haarlem. Currently, Sanne works as artistic director of the Participation with Dementia Foundation c.q. the participation choirs and as a teacher at Vocaal Talent Nederland | Nationale Koren in the teaching places Amsterdam and Haarlem.
